Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 Stainless

Some details and impressions of the Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 Stainless edition.

When I first went to the AIPSC club I attend, I was of course on the lookout to buy a replica myself. The folks in the club kindly provided me with a black version of this one to try out and I was thoroughly impressed with how it handled and looked that I promptly wanted one. They assured me that I'd best buy a Tokyo Marui instead of a (much) cheaper WE or other brand variant.

They also told me that it's best to buy a Hi-Capa variant because of the huge market of upgrade parts that are readily available. I briefly considered a Glock or Beretta M9 (upgrade parts aren't as abundant as for Hi-Capas, but still easily found), but the looks of the Hi-Capa did it for me. I decided I didn't want a short 4.3 version, as a longer barrel provides better accuracy even though the 4.3 Custom Dual Stainless looks very good as well.

Then it was 'only' a matter of finding a shop that sells Airsoft replicas and Tokyo Marui in particular. I found one which is pretty close to where I live but the replica was about 25% more expensive than in an online shop. I decided to buy it there and then anyway, since it's illegal to send 'weapons' in the mail in Belgium.

Anyway, I got home and immediately unpacked it. This is how it looks in the box:

I've had the replica for about 2 months now and I'm still liking the feel of it. It kicks, but not too much, the controls are nice and accessible for my hands, the weight is moderate and nothing has broken yet ;)

There are already some customisation ideas forming in my head, but these will be the subject of a later post!
